BY-LAW NO. 2 AUSTRALIAN WOMEN'S CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP [adopted 23 September 2002] 1. The title of Australian Women's Champion shall be awarded to the female player who attains the highest score in the Australian Open Championship. 2. The title shall be open to all female players who are Australian citizens or are deemed by the ACF Council to be full-time residents of Australia. 3. To award the title there shall be a minimum of: (a) Six females in the Australian Open Championship, and (b) Three States or Territories represented by the female players in the Open Championship. 4. The winner of the title shall have custody of the Australian Women's Championship Cup for the following two years and must pass it on to the organisers of the next Australian Open Championship. 5. In the event of a tie for first place, it shall be broken by: (a) The result(s) of the individual game(s) between (among) the players concerned or, if that does not resolve the tie, (b) The sum of opponents' scores (also known as the Buchholz or Solkoff Method).
