Chess News by email!

The ACF Newsletter is an informative and entertaining weekly ezine sent by email. Besides Australian chess, it also covers world news with annotated games from both Australia and overseas. It's completely free and it's easy to cancel if you decide you don't want it. The newsletter has more than 1000 subscribers and it's growing fast.

If you wish to receive the newsletter, please write your full details in the spaces below. You details are completely confidential and will not be supplied to anybody or used for anything other than sending out the Bulletin.

If possible, use a personal email address rather than a business email, because some employers object to non-work-related email. To ensure you receive the Bulletin, please list me ( Paul Broekhuyse, email: broekhuysep@hotmail.com ) in your email "contacts list". (This will tell your email program that the newsletter comes from a person you now so it is not incorrectly classified as spam - and blocked.) If you're using a free email service such as Hotmail, you should also check that the newsletter is not being put in the junk mail folder.

Feedback on the newsletter and contributions are most welcome!

Kind regards - Paul Broekhuyse

Unsubscribing

It's easy to stop the newsletter going to a particular email address. Simply open one of the newsletters sent to the address, go to the bottom of the email, and click the link next to "Unsubscribe". That's it.

If for some reason that doesn't work, try this: Open your web browser (eg Explorer) and type this address in the address bar: http://www.ymlp.com/u.php?ACFbulletin+YourEmailAddress - replacing "YourEmailAddress" with the address you want to unsubscribe from.

Changing my email details

Often newsletter subscribers want to keep getting the newsletter, but at a different email address. To do this, type in your new details above (where it says "Sign up for a free Australian Chess Federation newsletter!") to subscribe, and then follow the "Unsubscribing" instructions to remove your old address.

Please note: I can't do this for you. Even if I wanted to! The system is set up in such a way that only you can subscribe, unsubscribe, or change your details. The idea is to stop people sending out unrequested email (spam).

I've subscribed but I'm still not getting the newsletter

It's probably because the company that provides your internet access is blocking it, because it mistakenly thinks the Australian Chess Federation newsletter is spam. (This often happens when a single email is mailed to lots and lots of different email addresses).

To stop this, add this address to your email address book:
Name: broekhuysep@hotmail.com
Email: broekhuysep@hotmail.com

If you use hotmail or another free email service, you should also check that the newsletter is not going into the "Junk mail" folder. If it is, re-classify it to tell your email program that it's not spam.

Enjoy the newsletter - Paul Broekhuyse, editor.
